Chengdu and the wild west of Sichuan

Chengdu is up and coming. It is now the financial hub of western China. It is rich in history and heritage. Some of the most famous literary giants, poets and artists are from this region of China. There are also theatre and opera, and the stunning "Face Change" performance is also originated from Sichuan. Her culinary art and tea culture makes her recognised UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

Chengdu is the provincial capital of Sichuan and Sichuan is one of the provinces richest in tourism resources: it is the natural breeding ground for the pandas. Other famous sites include the picturesque Jiuzhaigou, the mighty Mt Emei, the Tibetan culture in the far west, the Giant Buddha in Leshan, just to name a few.
